Lighting Prompts for AI Images and Video

Exact prompt wording for rim light, Rembrandt lighting, golden hour and blue hour, each with an example frame and what it is not.

• Rim LightA light behind and to the side of the subject draws a bright line along hair, cheek and shoulder, lifting them off a dark background while the face stays mostly in shadow.
• Rembrandt LightingKey light high and 45 degrees to one side, so the shadow side of the face keeps a small triangle of light under the eye.
• Golden HourThe low sun just after sunrise or before sunset: warm raking light, long soft shadows, a rim of light on hair.
• Blue HourAfter sunset, before night: a deep blue sky with no direct sun, and the first warm lights coming on in windows.
